Role: Mentor · Collaborator  · Student

Collaborative Online International Learning
Also known as Typographic Intersections: Dada × SDGs × Cultural Exchange (COIL) iis an international Virtual Exchange project in which I codesigned the work and shared mentoring responsibilities with my design partner and classmate Tanya Glakhova while collaborating with and mentoring undergraduate students Tania Martinez and Danny Velazquez from universities in Honduras.
Facilitated by Professors María Rogal (University of Florida) and María Isabel Pineda (Universidad José Cecilio del Valle), the project builds on the earlier collaboration “Mira = Look: Tegucigalpa × Florida — Diseño y Pertenencias / Design and Belonging.”
The project engaged students in typographic and critical design exploration through Dada, the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and cultural exchange, using collaborative digital platforms to support dialogue, translation, and shared making. The work foregrounds mentorship, transnational pedagogy, and collaborative learning as central teaching practices.
Cartel Cultural
Rooted in shared memories of home, nostalgia, and childhood, this design reflects what we discovered to be similar across our cultures, inviting viewers to explore unexpected connections and shared stories within a collective visual “cartel.”
SDG 4 - Quality Education
The designed for Quality education roots learners in culture and history while inspiring hope and engagement with the future. Embracing pluriversity, it empowers youth to transform context into growth and share knowledge across a diverse, connected world.
